Hi All.
1. My orthodontist is God in the office - he dresses way down, little or no greeting, no idle chit-chat, no questions if at all possible, often examining me for no more than 25 seconds followed by a rapid-fire list of instructions to the assistant who struggles to keep up. But I think he is exceptionally talented in his biomechanics and I am so glad that he is my doctor. I mention all of this because after I saw my latest photos I remembered precisely why I laid down almost $7000.00 Canadian dollars.
2. I am afraid to do this, but many of you must know the thrill of seeing real and visible progress for the first time. Here's mine: first, the night before my 3 pre-molar extractions (the fourth was missing for unremembered reasons).

I am a 41 year-old male, class II with serious anterior crowding, roughly 6 mm overjet with deficient mandible, bad maxillary midline, molar cross-bite and the rest flared outward a lot.
Second photo, the day after my third adjustment.

My teeth were so awful; I love having braces, and I smile broadly a lot, even though there's much left to do. Mandibular advancement surgery likely around next July. *I scoured my teeth before this photo and I'm not sure what that yellow thing is!
3. I've seen this tip here before, but I'll mention how great it is to have had the assistant use thin wire to attach the archwire to the brackets (is this called a wire lig?) and smoke-gray powerchains. I eat Indian food every other day.
If there is anybody out there who is reading this and wondering about getting braces, do it without any more delay.
Cheers.
Glen
