Im the new girl around here
Im Jen and Im 28 years old. Yes, I know its pretty late to get braces ( at least that's what my mom told me when I asked for her opinion). Well anyways I just got my braces on Saturday. I only have them on my lower teeth. I had some extrem crowding and my dentist extracted #19. Worst nightmare. The tooth was stubborn and didnt wanna come out. It took over an hour to get that sucker pulled. Excuse my language, but I have nothing nice to day about #19.haha
So here I am 28 years old with one less tooth and clear braces. Facing the world and hoping for a quick painless journey. Please feel free to share your similar story with me. Im a google addict and love to compare my case to any similar ones.

Hi Jen! I'm new here as well, and about to go through this journey at an older age myself. I'm 38, and having the bottoms put on April 21st.
Will you eventually have them on all of your teeth? How has your first few days been?

Hi girls, I'm 43 so you're never too old for braces! Good luck with your respective braces journeys.

I'm 34 and I'm 3 days in to braces. It's never too late!

Hi Jen!
You are so young compared to an old lady like me! I'm 45 yrs old -- I wish I got braces for myself when I was 28 yrs old!
I started out with the tops only. Next month I will be getting on my bottoms -- my orthodontist says that once these are on the process will move along quickly.
In the beginning I was miserable. My mouth hurt, I couldn't eat -- the worst part was being embarrassed and self conscious. I tried to hide my metal mouth and refused to smile. Now that I have had my braces on for 4 months I can honestly say I hate them less and have even grown used to them! Sometimes I wonder what it feels like to NOT have braces on!
The time does go by fast after a while. I'm looking forward to the day when I can finally say "Wow! They are coming off already!?"
Good luck

Re: The new girl
Im happy to hear that Im not the only one doing this.
I actually had braces on my top teeth a few years ago. Im not sure why I didnt do it all at once. I defiantly regret it now. Haha
I could have beautiful straight teeth by now. Well, at least im on my way now. So I will only have my bottom teeth braced.
I had a few rough days after my extraction, but Im fine now. My husband says Im grumpy after each adjustment ( I go every 2 weeks) but I have no idea why he would say that. Haha
