Hello again all
Firstly I am unreservedly sorry I havent been here in ages due to some health issues that made braces the (very) least of my worries, nevertheless I am now fighting fit and back on the braces journey...you might need a cuppa for this one...its been sooo long
So back in April I learned I "had" an impacted upper left canine which to be honest would explain the sharp pains when I had my top 4 brackets and braces put on only on that side. After much deliberation I chose to have that canine surgically extracted under general anaestetic on September 25th
I sought many an opinion on the matter and when it came down to it the responses were similar
1) Both my ortho, a second ortho and the maxillofacial surgeon agreed that the position of the canine would not support proper alignment AND
2) The rest of my teeth on the left side dont need too much work to get aligned and the root / tooth would pose damage to them on the way down
3) I have a jaw way too small for the size of teeth, extractions were always going to be on the cards for me
So fast forward 4 or so weeks and today I had the second (and please I beg thee) final extraction ahead of my brackets top and bottom being put on just in time for Christmas dinner - great!?!
Issue is it was a lower right tooth at the front which was way off the arch and so now I literally can see a massive hole where it and the root was, never have I felt soooo unattractive between my sutres having just fallen out from the canine extraction and then a gaping hole where my mahoosive tooth was fraid to say I've been better
All I can say for sure is that after being £3k down, going through untold levels of pain and time off work when those brackets do go on (in 3 weeks time appointment booked) I will be gung ho......schumbody schtop meee (I currently have a small lisp also...sexy huh?)
Hope all is going well for you guys...am going to check in on your posts now!!
