I'm about halfway to my next adjustment and this coil spring is really doing some work on my lower arch. I'm still crossing my fingers that it makes enough space to turn my rogue tooth!

I can't believe my 7th adjustment is tomorrow. I know they say the time will go by quickly with braces, but it REALLY has gone by fast. This time last year I was just thinking about getting braces.

My smile has changed so much already. I can honestly say it's been a good decision, pain and all! Hopefully I will still feel that way in 18 months when I'm still wearing them!

7th adjustment update:

Worst adjustment to date.

The girl that did my lig change was new.... Her hand "slipped" twice while putting the new ligs on my top arch which resulted in her slicing my gums open twice. It hurt so bad the second time I wanted to cry.

Then the ortho set out filing between my lower teeth (trying to create some space for my rogue tooth to turn. I'm one of those people who can't stand to hear a fingernail file, even when I try to file my own nails, so you can imagine how uncomfortable the filing was in between my teeth. It wasn't painful ... But the sound was creepy and made me feel nauseous. The ortho said he will be doing that at the next few adjustments until we get some space. Ugh. Changed bottom wire to an 18x22. Top wire remained the same.

Also got a new spring on lower to help create space and he did two wire ties with the spring.

ready for some Advil and bedtime.

8th braces adjustment update:

Had my 8th braces adjustment yesterday. I have decided I am in the torture phase of adjustments. I thought the last one was rough, but yesterday, the filing he did was even worse than the first time. It felt like my teeth were shifting every time he pulled the file back and forth. Not fun. Also, he removed the bracket on my rogue tooth that we are trying to make room for, he said the bracket was just in the way of the spring. It did not hurt for the bracket to come off, just pressure, I was glad to know that for when my braces come off in 10,000,000 days. HAHA!

I'm 303 days in.... oh, I stuck with the light pink ligs on top, but at my daughter's request, I did yellow ligs on the bottom, they look like neon green. LOL.

I like the pink best too... my daughter wants me to get a rainbow next time... I do not know if I am brave enough.
