Thanks Mapleleafman!
15 days and still no pain. I'm able to eat pretty normally and even survived a Vegas trip with late night eating and a buffet lol. My portable water flosser is a savior, i dont know what id do without it! I still cant really bite into anything with my incisors unless its super soft. So sandwhiches, burgers, etc have to be cut in half so I can use the side of my mouth to bite into it. No noticeable movement yet, hoping to see some change in the next 2 weeks. I have 8 more weeks until my first adjustment

Re: My Story, Braces at 28
Yesterday was 4 weeks. I am still pain free. Its still a little difficult biting with my incisors as theyre sensitive to pressure, but i did manage to eat pizza yesterday lol. I would post pics but unfortunately theres no noticeable progress
I did go into the orthodontist's office on Monday because my bottom wire was poking so I had it clipped and it felt 100 times better. I know that at least that wire needing clipping means that theres progress happening even if I cant see it. Hoping to see some changes in the next few weeks. First adjustment in 6 weeks

Hey Nicolie welcome!
great pictures cant wait to see how they turn out, hope your still pain free ive had a bit of a nightmare with mine and im 2 weeks in! interesting that your 4 weeks in and still sensitive to biting with incisors as im exactly the same and was hoping it would go away soon but looks like I may be stuck with it! keep updating us on your progress

Thanks Sally! As you can see from my pictures, my bottom incisors are where I have some serious alignment issues and those are the ones that are sensitive to pressure, I actually have no sensitivity with my top incisors. So maybe in 2 weeks yours will be ok!sally1988 wrote:Hey Nicolie welcome!

So I take back what I said about no noticeable progress. I was looking in the mirror and it seemed like my bottom lateral incisor that is behind all my other teeth wasnt as far back. So I did a comparison picture and it has definitely moved up! I swear it didnt seem like I had any progress because I have comparison pics from 11 days ago and that incisor looks like its in the same position as day 1! But the wire doesnt lie! Guess this is why my wire was poking so much and why my bottom incisors are sensitive to pressure!

Another pic to show how fast things can change. And another pic with a different angle.

Oh wow you must be so pleased that's great movement! It will all be worth it when I start to see that kind of progress!

Re: My Story, Braces at 28
i think because your bottom teeth have so far to move it will feel all the more satisfying once they are straight, mine look straight from the front but they are actually so squidged together at the front that they stick out loads so I'll see much more improvement from the side views in the end!
I wonder if your top teeth aren't sensitive because the ortho has put more pressure on the bottoms as your tops don't need to move as much?
im so jealous that your not feeling it sometimes I feel like a baby teething!

Yes I cant even fathom what its going to be like once theyre straight since theyve been this crooked for so long! Im pretty sure my top wire is stronger than my bottom wire. But since my top dont have much aligning to do, I think thats why theyre not as sensitive as the bottom. One of my top lateral incisors is slightly pushed inwards so it has some moving to do and it is slightly sensitive to pressure, but nothing like my bottoms.sally1988 wrote:i think because your bottom teeth have so far to move it will feel all the more satisfying once they are straight, mine look straight from the front but they are actually so squidged together at the front that they stick out loads so I'll see much more improvement from the side views in the end!

Im so glad I havent experienced the pain I read about here. I dont even have issues with the brackets rubbing my cheeks or anything. The only time I used wax was the night before I went to get my wire clipped so it wouldnt poke while I slept. I dont know if its due to the less friction of the damon brackets or if I just have a resilient mouth (I didnt even need painkillers after having all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed), but i gladly accept whatever it is lol. Who knows what adjustments and stronger wires have in store for me though lol. I really hope youre pain free soon and start seeing some movement in the coming weeks! Do you have a story on here or just your blog?
