Re: open bite progress after 7 months
Great progress thus far! I love reading these posts as it reminds me of the great feeling I use to get when seeing notable improvements when I had braces!
Don't forget to keep us posted when your braces come off!

Re: open bite progress after 7 months
Thank you so much for your encouraging, replies.
I think you are right. It is hard to see how the result will be with the braces still on.I think it is just fear of the unknown and the feeling that I am not ready to finish my journey.... That my teeth are not as perfect as I had hoped them to be at the end of my treatment. Hopefully a good talk with my ortho will help.
I had a talk with my psychologist (because I have severe self esteem issues), and he said I had best listen to my ortho and get my braces off as soon as possible. And then after a few months evaluate whether I am happy or not, and if not, then go for more treatment (surgery if neccessary). Maybe that is a good advise?

Re: open bite progress after 7 months
I think that's a good plan, but it all depends on how YOU feel.
Our teeth do look a lot different with braces on them, so your psychologist is right in that you could see how you feel for a few months. Braces can become our security blankets, especially when we're unsure of what to expect.
I know I'm slightly anxious myself about how my teeth will end up looking without braces. Will they be huge? Will my smile be too wide now? Will my bottom midline be off forever? I can do what ifs all day but it won't change what 'is'.
You have a beautiful smile now, Anna and you've had so much progress!
I hope you can find peace of mind and that your talk with your ortho goes well or at least you come to a decision that suits what you want.
Don't rush into something you don't feel comfortable with, but don't let fear of the unknown hold you back!

Thank you for your kind message, Featheryy1221 and for sharing about your own feelings. I so much wished I could see what you all see, the beauty in my smile. Hopefully my ortho will ease my anxiety and/or we will come to a good solution.
By the way, I think your smile is beautiful!! I wish mine was that wide! (still often thinking about palate expansion myself, but my ortho thinks it is not necessary anymore because my crossbite was fixed).
Here is another picture of my teeth now: I don't like that it is canted, not symmetrical and narrow, but maybe I should not complain anymore and rejoice in the great improvement of my teeth during the past year in braces!

I am going to talk with my ortho on the 16th of September and soon after that, I might get debraced. Already very nervous for this!

Re: open bite progress after 7 months
That is so kind of you that you have been thinking of me the 16th!! Thank you very much for this....
However, I had to cancel this appointment with my ortho because of work duties/ meetings, so I had to make another appointment, which is on the 29th op September (earlier was not possible).
As soon as I have had the appointment I let you know!
Once again, thank you so much for your loving support!
HOw are you doing????

Re: open bite progress after 7 months
I talked to my ortho yesterday and he really thinks my teeth/bite are fine now and that I should get debraced. Surgery is no longer an option in his opinion and he thinks that everyone in the dental field will share his opinion (which might be true because I had a couple of second opinions and they all advised against surgery).
So I will get debraced on the 23 th of October, both excited and anxious for this moment!
