Lol I came to terms with the fact I won't be able to eat Christmas dinner a long time ago, as I got my date back in August. Hoping to have graduated to soft food by that point so I can at least have mash and gravy!! And yes I do indeed celebrate Christmas, I just now put my tree up  (my excuse is surgery... dunno how that works but it does)

Is it really only 9 days?! Omg!

I'm still gonna try and eat mash and mash up my roasts, oooh how am i gonna live without yorkshires :(
wow u got your date in august im well jealous, i only wish i was more prepared now!!

Omg!! ONE WEEK FOR ME, I AM WELL SCARED. ahhaha

I reckon yorkshires will be manageable if you cut them into little teeny pieces and let them soak in some gravy for a bit... maybe the crusty bit around the top might be a no-go but the bottoms of them should be fine! Depends how determined you are hehe! Stuffing will probably be fine too.

I've done a teeny bit of my Christmas shopping but still have most of it left to do... whoops. Have you done yours?

Aww I'm scared too!! I know what you mean about the random panic coming on, I've been getting that too :( Do you know yet what time next Monday you've got to be there? My admission time next Tuesday is 7am!!

hello!!!!

Omg, im in a fair bit of pain, ive not had a proper 'adjustment' in about a year, i didnt see my own ortho today i saw the other part time ortho and he was lovely!!
As i hadn't had a wire change in aaaaaaaaaaaages he had difficulty getting them out which hurt, (he did this to do moulds) ewwww. He replaced the broken bracket and then put some ties on? instead of elastic ligs? have you got this? I had my hooks put on today today, i get what you mean about the wax now!!!
I had lots of photos taken and xrays all done and now im good to go!!!!

Did you have any pain or pressure? I feel alot of pressure i don't know if its normal?

I have to be there at 7.15 for admision but says my op might not be till later on in the day, is that the same for you?
how are you today and how old are you? if you dont mind me asking. I'm 21 :)

If he changed your wire and was pulling you about a lot I'm not surprised you're sore now!! Glad he was able to fix your bracket too. I still have normal elastic ligs but I've read a lot of blogs where people said they had ties - I guess it's just down to your ortho's preference!

My surgeon reckons that I'll be the first of the day as my admission time is 7am. Hope so because I don't wanna be sitting there for hours stewing about it!!

I'm 26 :) Just had my last pre-op blood test about an hour ago, in case they need to do a transfusion... my arm really aches now, considering it was only one container she took loads!!

Yep I had to do that when I had my hooks fitted too. My surgeon said that he won't be leaving the splint in after surgery, it's just to help him guide the bite into place during surgery and then he'll take it out when he's done. I would guess that most people having this surgery would need one, it's just that not everyone has to keep them in after surgery. If they haven't told you that you'll be having one after surgery then I wouldn't worry too much!

I'm taking three weeks off work but I might work from home for a while after that... don't fancy getting my face knocked about on a crowded train! How long are you taking off?

Decided I'm going to cook fajitas for my last meal! And going out for a Christmas meal with my family on Saturday so I don't completely miss out on Christmas dinner... it won't be the same as my mum's roast but it'll do! Have you decided on yours yet?

Was talking to my parents earlier about plans for who's gonna come to the hospital with me on the morning of surgery and got a bit tearful  oh dear... don't wanna think about how bad I'm gonna be next week!!

ugh,
I am seriously in so much pain i nearly cried during work tonight, i dont know what hes done but it feels really intense? lol

3 weeks off hmm, i initially said i wanted 2 only but i feel as if that will be too soon to go back, i work in a shop and do the night shifts and it gets abit much for this time of year, 20+ pallets a night for us to do, boxes flying everywhere i dont wanna over do it!! If i go for 3 weeks off ill miss all the horrible christmas rushes!!!!
Oooh lucky you getting to work from home, yes going on a train in rush hour with a freshly broken jaw= BIG NO NO!!

My partner will be staying round on saturday night so we might just get a take away and eat all night haha (Well i will)

Oh no, sorry to hear u are feeling abit teary, I get what you mean though i have waves of overwhelmingness (not even a word but hey ho)! The time between now and our ops is just going too fast its nearly wednesday, less than a week away now!!

How you feeling about your last week of work?!

they have only gone and canceled my operation on the 8th!!!!!!!!! I have been ringin all night to see whether i had to go to my pre op, i have been spoken to like sh** and no one could even give me a straight answer, NASTY RECEPTIONISTS!!

anyway, I have to go to my pre op tomorrow morning, if they turn me away I am going to be mega mad as i have to set off at 6 to get there at 9, the dental nurse said to me that they will try to fit me in soon as possible for surgery but for now im not banking on anything.

Oh my god that's so crap!! And so bad of them to not be able to give you any information about your pre-op! Did they tell you why it was cancelled? :(

Hey!!!
After a lot of messing about and being spoken to like rubbish i got through to a denta nurse, she informed me it was cancelled because my surgeon has a cancer paitent and that person has taken my slot, im not bothered about that i obviously understand that but they was acting like i had just asked a unthinkable question.

anyway, this nice dental nurse told me to come for my pre op anyway because theyd more than likley 'squeeze' me back in to have my op soon, i hope so because, id rather not travel 2 and a half hours on bus to be told 'oh sorry its been cancelled'

its 5am and i have to get up and set off at 6 just to get there for 9!!! my app is at 9.20 so ill update the situation later, it would be great if they had a slot TOMORROW LOL, now that is wishful thinking!!

Ah I see :( Yeah it's fully understandable, obviously an emergency like that would take priority... but at the same time I don't think they should be getting arsey with you - it's such a huge thing for you and you've been waiting for it and preparing for it for a long time, so of course it's only natural that you're gonna want to know why if they tell you it's been cancelled!

It's good that they're still seeing you for your pre-op today though (although I guess by the time I've written this you're probably finished already!) - at least it means that it's all done and out of the way so you can be squeezed in now as soon as they have a slot available. How did it go?
