How Long to Wait for Aligners?

#1 Post by Kryssa »

I got my digital scans done today and my doctor showed me the the automated version of the results. This isn't the ClinCheck that he personally worked on, but something the scanner does automatically so it's not fine-tuned. He was going to work on the ClinCheck and send it off as soon as possible.

Now I wait... but for how long? Doctor said between 2-4 weeks.

I was hoping some of you could share how long it took for your first sets to come in! I am excited to get started :)

I don't know how long it took my office to receive them -- their standard procedure is just to have a patient make an appointment for four weeks after the scan since they usually have them by then, so that's what I did. Four weeks does seem like a loooong wait when you're eager to get started, but it will go by quickly! Enjoy the last few days of freedom!

For anyone that reads this in the future - they took 2 weeks and 1 day to arrive. I have an appointment Monday morning to pick them up!

We generally schedule our patients out 5-6 weeks for their initial insert visit after their scan. With the number of cases that we start, and the number of revisions that I put into each ClinCheck, there are times that I can complete the treatment in a shorter amount of time, but this is more the exception than the rule. If the aligners do arrive earlier, my team members are to call patients to see if they want to come in earlier.

The first ClinCheck generally gets back to me within a few days. It then takes a day or two for me to receive each revision, not including weekends. After accepting the ClinCheck, it usually takes just under a week to receive the aligners. This is one of the most important stages in the treatment, so getting ClinChecks back within such a short time frame often means less input from the doctor... which is what you are paying for. All the best!
