Thanks for your comment, how far into your brace journey are you?

What type of brace have you got?

I have had my braces for 605 days

I have traditional metal braces. They seemed smaller to me than the clear ones, so I went with them, plus I have enjoyed the fun colors.

Had my 17th braces adjustment yesterday.

They did my panoramic x-ray, and everything looks good. I should be done with the braces by end of summer. YAY!

They added a chain on my top arch (my first chain), to close up a few small gaps, and then just re-cinched the lower arch with a few bends in the wire to try and get my wonky tooth in the right place. It's actually in the right place, just needs to be stepped out a little.

I'm so thrilled that I am nearing the end of this journey.

Also discussed retainers, I will have a permanent retainer on my lower arch, and I will have an Essix type retainer on the top arch.

As far as this chain goes on my upper arch, I have the worst headache and my mouth is SUPER sore, I can't even chew a banana! I wasn't expecting that type of pain, but it's almost as bad as when I first got them!

Im a newbie as well, however I already had braces but failed to follow directions very well when I was in grade school. Now 10 years down the road I am disappointed with my outcome and am looking into getting them again! My advice is to listen to your ortho haha

Going for my 18th adjustment in two days...

Was looking in the mirror today while I was flossing after lunch and noticed that I think my wonky tooth is in the right place...the dark triangles are even mostly gone...I don't even know when it happened, I haven't noticed until today.

Forgot to update since my last adjustment.

It went well, my wonky tooth is in the right place, and now the tooth beside it has shifted in the wrong direction, so he added some bends in my wire to pull it back in place. He said I'm still looking at getting my braces off late August/early September.

I have my next adjustment tomorrow afternoon. I haven't seen any changes in a while, I know which tooth he is working on, but it doesn't seem to be budging.

Hope that doesn't mean he will change his mind about my late summer debracing!

My 19th braces adjustment was yesterday. Nothing too exciting happened, they removed my top and bottom wires, took a look, put the top back in, with the power chain and o-rings. On the bottom, he put some torque on the wire to try and pull a tooth in the right direction from the root. Figure 8's on the lower.

The exciting news is that he said at my next adjustment he will schedule me for my de-bracing!

However, now that he has said that, I am seeing all kinds of things I don't like - HAHA!

I'm happy with everything except for the lower left front, but I think given where I started, it's a pretty good result.
