Retainer Feeling Tight?

I got the go ahead from my orthodontist to wear my retainer just at night, but when I go to put it in at the end of the day it feels really tight. Is that normal? I'm just so paranoid about my teeth moving

I think this is normal. I've just started wearing mine overnight only and they feel much tighter when I first put them on.

They are tighter because they teeth have shifted during the day.

While it is great to be able to reduce the wear time, the constant changes could cause stress on the retainers and they may break.

How long have your braces been off?

I've been given the go ahead for night wear also yesterday and I find mine is really tight especially in the front. My teeth have a dull ache in the front today ( first day not wearing my retainer in the day.) Anyone else experience this? Wonder if his goes away after time?
