A bracket broke off while brushing!

#1 Post by ZiziOConnor »

Darn you toothbrush, you're supposed to be one of the good guys!!

Brushing my teeth in the shower and one of my lower brackets broke off. I later read that this can happen if you brush too hard. (I prefer, "overly enthusiastically".)

Any good youtube videos for brushing your teeth? I need to re-learn. :(

They can come off very readily from a crown so don't feel bad. Your ortho can apply a band around the entire tooth to good the bracket. Best of luck to you!

I didn't brush my teeth any different way with braces on - the bracket probably would have come loose when eating anyway... That happened to mine when eating something very soft... Just bad luck I reckon. Check with your ortho to see how soon they can attach it again for you and try not to worry :)
