One week until my double jaw surgery!

Hello All.

I'm one week away from my double surgery to correct my class 3 underbite. It's been 18 months since my brace was fitted and I'm super excited and nervous. I'm 28, a primary school teacher and I've been expecting surgery for about 15 years.

This may sound a bizzare statement, but I can't wait for my life to begin. I don't socialise, I rarely leave the house (except to work) and I can't wait for my life to pick up where I left it when I was a teen! Anyway, I just thought I'd vent some worries and get in touch with people who've experienced similar.

Hello! I also have a class 3 underbite, but I am only having upper jaw surgery. I am having a 3-Piece LeFort 1, for what I've been told. My surgery day is 6/8, in 2 days! Since I was a child (I'm 29 now), I was told that I would need surgery to correct my jaw as it did not appear to grow forward enough. I've put it off for so long, but after listening to my dentist tell me that I'll have dentures eventually if I don't get this taken care of (due to excessive wear on my back teeth), I decided to bite the bullet and get it taken care of. I've been in braces since Sept 2015, but previously had them in 2008 to correct spacing issues.

The more I read on here and watch youtube videos, the more scared to death I get! Needless to say, I'm nervous/scared, yet excited to finally cross this bridge in my life.
