I'm a she, not he. I asked questions by email because I read some commentaries on this particular doctor's office that they respond better to email than phone calls. I was giving it a try. Phone calls not answered either. My questions were not asking medical advice only but mostly the cost and scheduling an MRI. I will be paying most of the doctor's fee myself and I needed to know the cost to decide whether to proceed. This was not brought up in consult. I get it that they don't want to be tied down in writing. I have given up until the time gets closer and will probably seek second opinion.

When is your surgery and what was the content of the emails?

I've read your other posts about requiring all the surgey. Hope you are getting a second opinion.

I don't want to give out anymore details on such a public forum. If you want to pm me....... I guess this is why we don't give out doctors names. Just answered my own question, haha.

I will say my surgery is at least a year away.

Your surgery is at least a year away and you've already sent 10 emails? Wow.

Most surgeons are pretty busy; pre-op and post op appointments, surgeries, teaching, emergency surgeries.... Even their office staff is busy putting together surgery packages, insurance issues, scheduling... A lot can happen in a year; including you not being their patient. Keep reading through this message board; I'd bet most of your questions could be answered in the section.
Round 3 (lifetime) Damon stainless applied 3/16/20 (after 4 weeks attempting invisalign) On for about 18 months
Night time elastics with invisalign retainers; still...
Double jaw surgery was 6/18/15...
Orthodontics never really ends...
I'm emphatically against extraction orthodontics!

I haven't sent any since they quit answering them. Got the hint, okay. I was just trying to find out results of the MRI so I could plan the price of my surgery. They didn't like the reading by the radiology doctor so they want me to have it done again somewhere else. I guess I'll wait till closer in. Just didn't want 20000 to be added to the price at the last minute for tmj. I also have talked to my ortho and he called them and they said something was wrong with the MRI. Just seems weird to me. I'll have to pay for it again.

Just want to say thank you to all for your helpful advice.

Sounds like you need another consult for results?

Really sucks you have to pay so much. Come to Aus it's a lot cheaper haha.

I wouldn't be surprised if you don't get much info via e-mail, if any. I'm not familiar with HIPAA regulations but I'll bet they do warn about communicating potentially sensitive info via e-mail, I teach at a university and due to FERPA regulations (more alphabet soup, but still privacy-related  ) we have to be very careful about even giving out student's information such as grades via e-mail because we don't know who is going to be reading that stuff on the other end. From what I've heard, HIPAA is not a line you want to cross under any circumstances.

If you're not satisfied, I would find someone else, this isn't like getting a lawnmower worked on.
