I HATE HATE HATE mint flavor ANYTHING, any ideas?
Does anyone know of any NON mint flavored toothpaste, mouthwash, floss (I've seen that) that is good to use with braces. I absolutely hate mint flavored anything, it makes me gag! Any recommendations, please? Thanks

I totally agree with you! Mint is
Aquafresh toothpaste makes a cinnamon flavor, I've only seen it at Walmart, Crest Whitening Expressions toothpaste comes in citrus or cinnamon. Mouthwashes, there's Cepacol.. it kind of has a "spicy" taste, hard to describe but I like it, or there's Lavoris, which is cinnamon. Act Fluoride rinse comes in cinnamon, bubble gum , and I think even grape. What annoys me is trying to find wax that isn't mint flavored. You would think stores would stock the no-flavor too, but it is hard to find.

I believe that Tom's of Maine has several flavors that are not mint-based. Also, I think that Crest just recently came out with some toothpaste which is citrus-flavored. And there is an expensive French toothpaste which is (I think) anise flavored.
If you want, I can provide links for these products. The first two are readily available in most large drugstores.

Try Tom's of Maine-they do have a non-mint toothpaste & I suggest citrus Listerine mouthwash, my favorite. I have tried the Crest Expressions (got a free sample of 2 flavors), I did not like it at all but that's just my preference. As for the wax, my ortho gave me some no-flavor wax.. I couldn't find any in the Walmart or 2 other drug stores near my home but I don't need to use it, either.

Just for the record, I can get unscented unflavored clear dental wax for anyone who doesn't like mint or mint scent -- in any quantity you need. Just drop me an email over at DentaKit.
Actually, I can get people just about anything they want via a special order. I'm happy to do the research for you guys and find any product you've been searching for.

That's still mint, mixed with cinnamon. This toothpaste is very strong, I wouldn't use it when the gums are sensitive, because it tends to be painful at those times.Wanita wrote:I use Tom's of Maine cinnamint toothpaste.
My wax came from the ortho, and was unflavored. (I didn't know they made flavored wax)
Metal braces from March 24, 2005 until July 30, 2007. Estimate was 18-24 months, but I had them for 28 months.
Here are some interesting alternative toothpastes.
