Class II Elastics in adults

#1 Post by desertd »

I'm sure this has been asked before but does anyone know how Class II elastics work in adults? I've seen them work for people so I'm not doubting it. My question is do they more pull your top teeth back or do they pull your bottoms forward? I feel more in my top teeth and jaw than anywhere else.

I found a bunch of videos, probably too many, based on the query "how do orthodontic elastics work?" but cannot post the link, as it is recognized as spam by the filters in use here. But, you can find out a lot via Google. Best of luck to you!

I currently have class II elastics and from what the orthodontist told me is they pull your top teeth back and lower forward I think it slowly moves then jaw or gets your used to that forward position slightly I have also been told my next appointment I’ll have a different wire for my teeth that will change the angle for them to come in so I’m guessing it’s not totally the elastics pushing them back
