I had my last adjustment today

#1 Post by ThatsMrsGeek2U »

They come off January 9th. They are ready now, but that is the first available time slot for taking them off. I was supposed to have 18-24 months and finished in 12...13 by the time they get them off, though.

Excuse me while I dance!

I don't know why they moved faster really. I had a very deep bite and it is waaay better now. Not perfect, but as much as he could get on an adult without surgery and it is within what looks "normal" to most people now. I have been a Sonicare brushing fiend and wore my rubber bands consistently. Okay, I was a little obssessed about the rubber bands since the doc said the more I wore them the faster it would all be over. If I broke one while eating I actually stopped to replace it before I continued eating. Sad, huh? But I am getting early release for good behavior. :D I also never slept with my mouth open before braces and I do now. I don't know why, but I wonder if that helped?

PHOTOS, PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS !!! :gavel:

Just a question too....seeing as you have a deep bite, were you back molars not touching until the elastic phase? And if so, how long before they came together?

At the 6 month mark it felt like ALL that touched was my canines (this is also when I started my elastics/discontinued my sagittal appliance). It was a gradual procession to each tooth behind that...a couple of weeks later it seemed like I had three on each side touching. It has just been about a month or so ago that those final two in the very back on each side started touching.

I remember how horrible it felt to feel like none of my teeth were touching and I couldn't chew properly. Once it started to resolve itself, it really went FAST, though. Having those three sets on each side start touching helped TONS with my state of mind about it all. Ugh! I thought I'd never eat right again.
