Braces affecting face shape - Doc?

Hello doctors,

Is it likely that wearing braces has changed my face shape? My cheeks have a more sunken in look (I look thinner but am not, not that weight was ever an issue) and a couple of months after getting braces I developed two lines (ok - wrinkles) along the vertical sides of my mouth (are these called 'laugh lines'?) - I am in my 30s but it's strange for this kind of thing to just suddenly appear, isn't it? I look good, so I'm not complaining, just curious...

Hey I didn't have that when I had braces but my face looked a bit more skinny (although I was really skinny at the time so I dunno) and 2 bumps in the skin just down my lower lips (that actually looked more full).
