Went to ortho last Saturday. I am still on tray 10. (I think this is like 5 weeks) at least it feels like it. I found out that the pain I was having on my gum is causing me to have a root canal. April 11, I go in to schedule my surgery. I cant move to tray 11 until after the surgery.
So, Im about 3-4 months behind on schedule, because all the problems I have been having with my teeth and having to leave the trays in longer than the 3 weeks recommended by my doctor. Im okay with it though. Looking at what Invisalign has done to my upper teeth doesnt discourage me and I cant wait for my bottom teeth to be just as straight.
I will let you know the outcome of my trays fitting after I have surgery. Doctor is concerned because I have to have a crown also, and the trays might not fit after the crown is put on.
Update on my treatment

No Invisalign didnt cause this. The way it was explained to me - from a friend, not a professional... is that I have a tooth that already has a filling in it (its been in about 19 years), but my cavity got worse and they cant give me more of a filling, so they have to drill on the side of my gum and "kill the tooth root". So, that the root doesnt hurt anymore.
I might be totally wrong. I didnt ask much about it. I actually go to my regular dentist on April 11 - for a second opinion and that is when I will find out everything. I will inform you more when I find out....
If anyone can help answer this... I would like more info.
Yes, you will catch up. Especially if you are doing 2 weeks per tray. I have always done 3 weeks per tray... and now sometimes 5 and 6 weeks per tray... ergh!

Went to dentist yesterday for my 2nd opinion - no root canal needed. Thank heaven! They did a deep cleaning which cost me $200.00. It wasnt a regular cleaning that would have cost me $75.00. My gums feel better and they gave me some meds for my gum, where it was hurting and it already feels better today. They said the invisalign trays are receding my gums and my roots are very sensitive. The dentist I went to has invisalign on, and he said the same thing happens to him on the very same tooth as mine.
So, I switched to tray 11. The top (which my uppers are almost completed) isnt fitting over one of my speed bumps correctly. But the rest of the tray is fitting fine. Sounds weird, but the tray doesnt fit over 1 speed bump and that tooth correctly. Im still going to leave tray 11 on and see if I can see my ortho this Saturday, if not, I will see him on the 22nd. Hopefully by then my trays will fit correctly and he wont tell me to go back to tray 10.
So, tray 11 it is..... Last night I went to tray 11 and as expected, my darn teeth are sore today... cant wait til Friday when the ache goes away...
