Stacey's Pre-Braces Story
This is going to be my story
I start my first treatment next week
Two fillings on the front teeth
At the moment they are chipped and look disgusting
That's why I wanted them done first
My dentist is soooo nice and friendly
Because I've always felt uneasy around dentists, he tells me what he's going to do before he does anything and he stops if I ever get uncomfortable
Next post I may just include some pix of my teeth before treatment
(WARNING: do not look at these photos while eating)

Hi Stacey and welcome!
I look forward to reading about your treatment and seeing your awesome progress!
Don't worry about posting your pictures on archwired! We are all adults and respect each other! It takes a lot to post pictures, especially if you're self-concious! We realize that and will never criticize you! No worries!
Good luck on your journey!
Leslie

Hey!
Welcome to the board and congrats on taking this big step and getting your braces soon.
As Leslie said, putting pictures on here takes a lot but we all have our reasons to do it. This board is amazing; you will get so much positive feedback and support. Posting pics here is great because sometimes when you don't see any movement, others will and that alone encourages you to continue...
Good luck with everything and keep us posted!

I don't know what I was so worried about!
I had my two fillings and couldn't feel a thing!!
The dentist was half an hour behind in his appointments, so it gave me time to relax
He deadened the gum first with this hottt gel stuff, then stuck the needle in both sides of my mouth. I didn't even feel that! That gel stuff was magic!!
He fixed up another fillings free of charge
Only a few more left, then I can get my X-Rays done!

Got another appointment today with the dentist
I'll be stretching it tho - as I start work at 4pm and my appointment is at 1:45pm. Last time he was running late. And the worst thing is...I work in a call centre, where I speak on the phone all the time God know's how I'm going to manage to do that if my mouth is still numb! But I'm not feeling half as nervous as what I was last time

Oh noooooo!
I may be out of a job soon
I think I've mentioned in previous posts that I work at a call centre
Well, the contract with our current client is at an end and people are starting to get permanently downsized
Casuals will be the first to go and I just happen to be a casual
This has come as such a shock to me!
I just hope I can last until the very end
*thinks positively*
I had to write a letter to my dad yesterday (my parents are divorced and I live with my mum) and told him about my situation (braces/job)
I just really hope now that he will offer to help out in some way.
I'm still hoping that I will get my braces on sometime at the beginning of July. Maybe even before that

Thanx for your kind words Karen.
That's exactly what is happening to our centre
I made myself another appointment with the ortho today, but he's going on holiday for a month and the earliest I could make it was June 21st
I have to get X-Rays done on Thursday of my jaw. The ortho was concerned about my jaw because when he was doing the examination my jaw clicked when I opened and closed my mouth. I hope I don't have to have jaw surgery. I hate hospitals as much as I hate dentists And I have one last appointment with my dentist tomorrow!

Last appointment!!! Or was it??
This filling was a metallic one and it tastes gross!
I had the appointment at 12pm... and I had to figure out what I was going to have for lunch with a numb mouth - I settled on noodles The dentist was telling me about the orthos and how strict they can be about your teeth! He's got me all worried now.
All I have to do now is wait until the 21st June

I had X-Rays of my jaw today
Found out that all of my wisdom teeth are beginning to erupt!
I already knew that one of them had, but it kept appearing, then going again So...I am expecting to have my wisdom teeth yanked
And the filling I had done on Tuesday doesn't really feel as though it's filled. It's starting to annoy me!! It feels really rough!
My B-day won't be the 21st June - I'm just seeing the ortho to discuss further treatment (the receptionist said I might be fitted for the braces then tho) I don't want to be braced until my current job is over (can't have any more time off - wouldn't be good for my 'stats')
I made a joke to my dentsit before I left after my filling
He said "no eating any peanuts for about an hour or so."
I said, "Oh, so I can't have that Snickers for lunch then?"
I had to tell him I was joking cos I'm sure he cringed
I seem to spend about 20 minutes or so in the bathroom of a night - brushing, flossing and rinsing. I love going to bed with a fresh smelling mouth I brought some of those dispensing tablets from the supermarket - haven't used those since high school (to be honest, I didn't think I could get them anywhere). They work wonders!
