well today was the day ive been brace free for about 2 hours now.

cant belive how good my smile looks.

only problem i got now is i have upper and lower hawley and well ive got one big speech and drooling problem, tomorrow i have to go back to work which is going to be fun as i work with the public the last thing i want is to start drooling in front of everyone.

is this going to take long to get over?

Hi Jay,

Congratulations on getting your braces removed :banana: . I bet you're so happy with your new smile and to be brace-free.

Yes, you will get use to the retainers and the speech and drooling will not be there forever. You just need to adjsut as you did with the braces.

Since you indicated you took the day off today, I do hope you have been celebrating all day.

Take care and keep us posted on your adjustment to the retainers.

my ortho said she was going to send me my before and after pics in the post so when they arrive i will scan and post the results on here.

just about getting use to my hawleys now still got a bit of a lisp but im working on it keep saying different words to myself and keep running through the alphabet.

still got a drooling problem though and every time i go to say any word that begings with S i tend to spit a bit not good :oops:

Oh and SSFW of course i made the best of my day off, you have to celerbrate theese things, getting the braces off was just like having a birthday.

Mind you could say this was a belated birthday pressent as it was my birthday on the 25th april.

And thanks everyone for your kind words much appreciated i just cant stop looking at my teeth in the mirror.

Unlike 15 years ago when my braces came off, think i will wear my retainers faithfully this time round.
