Hi guys - I am almost done!! And everything is looking so good!! I have one last week of aligners 23/24 and then I have to wear aligner 24 for four weeks (the doctor said just to make sure everything is settled for good).
After that, I go see him again and he said he would be "crimping" the aligner. I asked for clarification but I still don't really have a good idea of what that is. Has anyone heard of this or had it done?
crimping?

Lesley,
I've had a couple of stubborn teeth that were moving slower than they should be so on a couple different occasions my ortho used this tool that looked like a hole puncher on my aligners. This tool puts a dimple in the aligner causing a tighter fit and more pressure on the particular tooth, helping it to move along as it should be.
It doesn't make a huge difference in the fit, just makes the aligner a bit more snug. My guess is this is crimping...If not I'd be interested in finding out what it is!
If your using your last aligner as a retainer maybe he will do this so that it will always stay snug against your teeth????
