Debracing May 31st !!!

#1 Post by texasangel »

I am scheduled to be debraced May 31st !! I also had a cleaning already scheduled for that day, so they are combining both appointments.
I'll probably be there all day.

They will take the braces off (yeahhh!!!) and then do molds for the retainers (both essix and hawley) and then do the cleaning. They make the essix in their office, but the hawley will be sent out, so I will have the essix to wear when I leave.

At my March appointment I decided I wanted to keep them on longer to try and correct my overbite, but the more I thought about it, I don't think I could take it for 6 more months! Yep - I'm a wimp. But since I couldn't afford to have jaw surgery I knew that I would still have a slight overbite. And it isn't that bad anyway - I'm happy with the way they look now.

I will try and post photos when they are off. I have before photos also, but I couldn't get them posted correctly. I tried photobucket, but I couldn't get it to work. I will try again when the braces are off.
Braced on 1/10/05 - full metal- woo hoo!!
Braces coming OFF 5/31/06 !!!

I'm sure I would opt out of another 6 months, too if given the choice. Congratulations. I can't wait to see pictures. So many people are getting "debraced" right now. I wish it were me!! :-)o

:-)o :-V :-88 Another virtual party......I don't think I was invited to this many parties in high school

Congrats on the debracing date. I think it is grate the ortho is doing both sets of retainers for you. I know I have read a few posts lately that the one week you have to wait for the Hawley there is movement.

Have a great virtual party!
