I am happy to say my braces came on Monday. .Here is my problem. They gave me a temporary retainer for my top teeth. It is a clear molding of my teeth that I just slip on over my top teeth. I am thinking maybe it is similar to invisalign. My problem is it is a pain getting the temporary retainer off to eat. Is there some secret into slipping that off my teeth without breaking a fingernail and going through alot of pain. I was told to take it out when I eat and brush. My next appointment is June 7th where I will get my permanent retainer. At this rate I am going to lose alot of weight because it is just to hard to remove the retainer.

Hey there,
My aligners are always tough to pull out the first couple of days after starting a new set. I've found the easiest way to get them off when they don't want to budge is to use a paper towel or napkin (to help keep your grip) and grip the back end of one side of the aligner with your index finder and thumb pull it down and then work your away around your mouth until they come off. Just be careful that when you are pulling that you pull down as you go and not out since twisting them could probaly cause them to snap. Its worked for me so hopefully this technique helps you out as well!

im not sure how women cope with removing trays i have made the mistake of cutting nails too short before i get a new set to put on which is awkward I find trays are always tricky taking them off and pain wise for 3 days after that no probs. This is the way i put trays in and take out do not know if this is how everyone else does.
putting trays in:
1, same for top and bottom always start at front of mouth and work towards the back.
getting top tray out:
1, use finger closest to thumb, work from back simultaneously pulling on each side of tray steadly comming closer to front of mouth until out.
2, use both thumbs to push up tray in middle the reason you can do it this way is because there is a ridge at the bottom of my trays do not know if its the same on other peoples it might be like this because this part of tray is unseen so the look does not matter too much.
