METAL BRACES AFTER INVISALIGN... IS IT FREE?
HAS ANYONE BEEN CHARGED FOR METAL BRACES AFTER SEEING THAT THE RESULTS OF INVISALIGN TREATMENT DIDN'T GO AS PLANNED BY THEIR ORTHO? OR IS THIS FREE OF CHARGE?
You will have to ask your orthodontist. I would charge in certain cases but would eat the costs in other cases. There is no easy answer, but realize that the clinician is taking their chair time, experience, and products and giving you a very specific and unique service. I am sure you will hear different answers, but your best bet is to ask your ortho.

rspouse you seem qualified to answer this any help much appreciated:
before i started my treatment i had a letter telling me i needed 4 teeth extracting and there is a 15% chance that at the end of treatment i may need to wear a fixed brace as some back teeth may tip slightly and need uprighting, i fear this may be happening with a couple of molars in particular when i put tray on it goes on but does not look quite right. Im not sure about the cost of needing a fixed brace after invisalign because i dont want to pay thousands more for a few months instead of a few years. The letter also said there was a 20% chance of a mid-course correction new impressions ect.

Diehard,
Don't ever call me qualified...you might scare people
But seriously. Any orthodontic treatment has its ups and downs and mid course correction is common as you cannot plan for how the human body will react. You expect things to happen in a certain way but sometimes it just doesn't. I am not familiar with your exact problem so I cannot say what you need. But ask your ortho about "Refinement Aligners". Basically when you are on your last aligner the doc will take a new set of impressions and some pics and send them to Align with instructions and they will fabricate a few more aligners to "fine tune" your treatment so you are happy with your results. But, if your current aligners "don't look right" then you need to take care of this now as your future aligners are dependent on your current setup. Do they not snap in properly? Do they seat? You will probably want to contact your treating doc and schedule a checkup to evaluate where you are. Take your most recent tray with you, may be time to go back a couple steps before moving forward.
Good Luck,
Rory
