I am new here, so I'll introduce myself first! I have had my ceramic braces on for 5 weeks now and doing OK - although I wish I'd found this forum earlier! Am scared now of having the ceramics taken off - can anyone reassure me that it's not that bad???
Anyway, my story is that I have always hated my teeth, had some ortho work done when I was 14ish, it moved my teeth a bit but nothing really got followed up. Anyway, here I am at 26 having braces of my own volition - I am getting married in November and although my treatment won't be complete by then, my o/dontist is taking the brackets off for the wedding (for £500 thanks v much

OK - I have an overbite, and so far my front teeth have not moved forward far enoguh to fit my bottom brackets in. In an effort to accelerate things so I get some improvement by November (my wedding), my o/dontist has put these 'blocks' on my upper and lower molars - just one on each side top and bottom. This is making chewing food a nightmare, as I have no cutting surfaces and only one point of contact each side. But I am coping. The o'dontist said these would be removed - but my question is HOW????!! I kind of always assumed brackets would be removed using some kind of solvent to dissolve the glue - tuens out not! So how will he get these blocks off the top of my teeth without pulling my teeth clean out????
Nix xx
