Thanks for the responses, KK, smallbutmighty, bracedagain, cbradac and Meryaten.

smallbutmighty- I'll be moving over 16 hours away (several states away from where I am now).

I had an appointment with to get a cleaning today, and everything is looking great with my teeth (no cavities). In fact, the hygenist and doctor were very impressed with how well I've been cleaning my teeth. They said they wished all their ortho patients could do so well. I feel really good about that.

I have been wearing my elastics and I think I have noticed some changes there but the bite still needs to close a bit more. My next ortho appointment is a little over 3 weeks away.

I've been swamped with things to do in preparation for my move so I haven't been too good about posting updates.

I have a debonding appointment on July 3rd!!! It's pretty exciting. I will go in during the morning and the braces will be removed--a mold also will be done. Then the essix retainer will be ready to pick up in the afternoon.

I feel good about the results. I'm still in elastics right now to further close the bite. The ortho suggested maybe seeing a dentist/ortho combo in the future. I think that sounds reasonable since I would rather not have to make appointments for two separate offices, and it would just involve checking the retention of my alignment/bite....we'll see.

I'll post some pics later! :D
