Invisalign and Pregnancy???
Hello Everyone, I am a new member to the board and would like to know if any one has used invisalign whilst pregnant? Conflicting info as to if it is safe - prob err on the side of caution and wait till its over! Thoughts are welcome!
My treatment - I am at tray 6 of 30 and so far have been happy with it - a few sore spots and the attatchments are a bit of a shock - aside from that Im cool! Most people dont notice unless they are right up close - ok for people you know not so great when meeting new people - ah well still less obvious than braces I guess!
Cheers, Bye for now

Pregnancy
I am an invisalign user and I started the process before I became pregnant and continued to use them throughout my pregnancy. My Ortho said it was perfectly safe. My only issue was that in the beginning of my pregnancy, having them in seemed to enhance my nausea. Otherwise I had no problems continuing my treatment during my pregnancy. I now have a 3 month old and I'm alomst done with my treatment. I'm very happy with my results.

thanks for your reply
Hi Genchi918, Thanks for your reply - thats so great to hear - I have talked with my ortho and he got the material safety data sheet for me from invisalign - it says that there is no known mutagenic affect - and well they use that kind of plastic for heart valves and all sorts of other medical devices so it should be really safe - which is great! Appreciate your response and all the best for the end of your treatment (and congrats on the baby too!) Cheers
I have been wearing invisalign since March and I'm due on May 30th (next Friday, yay!). My ortho didn't seem concerned at all when I told her I was pregnant at my first consultation. The only problem I have had was laying down on my back in the chair when she did the IPR. Other than that I have not had any complaints. I'm almost done with tray 4 out of 14U/13L.

What's the best way to cure insomnia during pregnancy? I’ve been suffering from insomnia during pregnancy for a couple months now and I want to know what the easiest way to cure insomnia during pregnancy is. I’ve taken those herbal remedies like Sleep-MD and they don’t seem to be much of a cure for insomnia. So what are my best options for curing insomnia during pregnancy?

Insomnia and pregnancy...
Hi Brendya - sorry to hear you are having trouble sleeping, not much worse than that when your body is working so hard to build a baby!
I have been lucky that I have not had insomnia - I have a five year old daughter and am currently 17 weeks pregnant so I am tired ALOT! However have had it in the past (when not preg) and it was the pits!
I would look at cutting out all caffine after 5pm (thats if you have been still able to drink the stuff - I cant even smell it and I usually LOVE coffee!)
Also try not to nap for more than 20min a day if possible as this can throw your sleep pattern out and keep you awake at night.
Other really important thing is to get at least 15 min of sunshine a day (vitamin D helps from the sun) and talk about how you are feeling with someone you trust. If you a really busy or stressed person, have pen and paper next to your bed and write things down as they come into your head - this way you wont lay there thinking about them all night!
Hope this helps you
As for me and Invisalign in pregnancy I would say it def makes the nausea much worse but now that I am past 12 weeks it has improved. I am up to 27/30 so Im on the home stretch and cant wait to get the attatchments taken off and feel my smooth straight teeth and well SMILE for all the world to see!
All the best to you - stay safe and look after you and your family
Cheers

I thought last year they found that caffeine can cause miscarriages, so you probably don't want to drink any caffeine at all!Rippersmile wrote:I would look at cutting out all caffine after 5pm (thats if you have been still able to drink the stuff - I cant even smell it and I usually LOVE coffee!)
